Interested in a drawing of (Kurt as) Mad Max?

I drew a picture for you guys. I think it turned out pretty well, despite starting over like three times. I don't want to spend money shipping the original drawing to someone who isn't going to get excited about having it. SO… if you're at Multiplex Patron (at any level) and are interested in winning this sketch of Kurt as Mad Max, leave a comment HERE AT PATREON (using your Patreon account) before Midnight, March 1st (in other words, while it's still the month of February).

Mike Stevens Love it. Your vector work is amazing and uniquely yours, but your pencil work is so good. Would love to see more of it. I recall you doing a storyline or two in that more traditional form, actually... I think it was the zombie film? Loved it.

February 19, 2015 23:22:02 · Reply

Gordon McAlpin Yup, the zombie movie (Book 6) was by far the longest, but also the other film series promos, and a few other imaginary sequences here and there.

BrotherFlounder Well. Um. Huh. I guess there's a couple possibilities here. 1) He knows Norma won't move to Rockford because of family and is gonna use her turning this down to make her look bad. 2) Someone squealed at the annual meeting, and he's trying to set Norma against Melissa. 3) He's actually being nice. (HAH!)

Steven St Clair I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to a new Star Wars film, which is not something I thought I'd be saying again. "Looking forward to" is not the same as "having high hopes for," though. I'm keeping my hype in check. I'll probably check out the full trailer whenever that comes out, but beyond that, they're getting my ass in a seat come December, nothing more, nothing less. ...that fucking Millennium Falcon shot, though. :-D

January 5, 2015 00:09:14 · Reply

Kevin Rubin I haven't watched the trailer yet, but I've seen enough still shots here and there about the internet that I might as well. I was hoping to eventually go into the movie without having seen any of it, just watch it unfold in the order the director intended it to. Related to your title "Force Lightning in a Bottle" and movies with special effects... I used to read Cinefex magazine (my mother's cousin married the editor and began writing and editing it herself, so she used to always send me copies) and in the late 80's and early 90's there was a regular advertisement in it featuring a picture of an elderly couple, looking like peasant farmers, capturing lightning in a bunch of glass jars.

January 5, 2015 00:21:27 · Reply

Ralph I loved the trailer and feel like it really looks like Star Wars! I feel like it addressed a lot of the things that were covered I. The Dear JJ Abrams video a year ago. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_joDNOpeWWo

N-J Gilbert-Redman I like being able to go back through the strips to see what I might have missed the first time around. I appreciate your doing these and definitely would like you to keep doing them as you have time. Thank you!

November 18, 2014 02:48:49 · Reply

Gordon McAlpin You're welcome! I like doing them, and it's not a lot of extra work for the new chapters; I lay them out in this format as I create them already, to make sure I know where the page breaks are (and to leave myself notes of where I might add bonus strips). And the covers are very simple. (For older chapters, sometimes there's a bit of work involved, even without bonus strips, which is why I haven't posted many of the earlier chapter as pre-release eBooks yet. I'll try to prepare some of those when my school schedule relaxes a bit in December.) The long delay for this one is mainly because of indecisiveness about where to put the break between 35 and 36. I was originally going to make 35 just extra long to stick with the pattern of each book having five chapters, but it has started to look SO extra-long that it needed to be split after all.
