Big time writers can make a living from their writing. I'm not exactly "big time," but it'd be great if I could make a little something. I'd truly appreciate your support. Thanks.

About

I am an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). I'm proud to be a co-founder of The Christian Left. My blog, The God Article, was recently named as one of the “Top Ten Christian Blogs.” You can also find my articles on The Huffington Post and Sojourners. I'm married to an amazing Baptist minister and have two fabulous teenagers.

More than anything (other than peace and justice), I'd like to have a beverage in one hand and a book in the other as my wife and I look across the shores of Ocracoke, NC.

Oh, and I'm a bit of a geek.

There is so much misinformation out on the interwebs about Christianity and the Bible which is strange because, in many ways, they are both very simple and boil down to one thing -- be the love.

My writing has always been about putting those three words into action. I'd love to do more of it -- a lot more of it. And friends are always asking when I'll write my next piece. The thing is, it's not a paying gig and, as much as I love it, my family and I like me having an income. Who doesn't?

This Patreon campaign is sort of like an ongoing Kickstarter. It's pretty simple. You just pledge whatever amount you think a blog post is worth and you can even set a monthly limit. For example, if you pledge 4 bucks a post and there are 8 post that month, you'd chip in $36. You could, however, also set a limit of $30 a month. So, even if I write 20 posts in a month, you'd still just chip in $30. (I'm actually aiming for 6-8 posts a month).

In the end, this is just an interesting way to crowdsource funding an artist you appreciate and would like to see more creations from. I'm hoping I'm one of those people for you. Thanks for you consideration and contribution.

One last thing, even if you aren't interested in funding you can be a big help by simply sharing this post around social media along with a note about what you think of my work. Thanks!
