Veronika von Volkova is creating
Photography and digital art
I strive to create eerie butt photos.
I am a Canadian photographer who spends most of her time in Montreal, but can also be found annually in Paris, and delights in travel in general.
I have an interest in the shape of public spaces that drives me to photograph them during empty hours, and a slowly growing collection of images of parks and public walkways taken at 4am in various cities around the world.
My work is sometimes described as melancholy, but that is not generally my intention. Being alone is not inherently lonely, but can instead be peaceful and rejuvenating. The darker spectrum I tend towards comes from an appreciation of the way the light falls when it is scarce.
If you’re curious about my portraiture, you might enjoy this interview over at eight cuts conducted by the wonderfully thoughtful Dan Holloway.
“Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in.”

Dear delightful internet person,
Thanks for visiting my Patreon page. If you enjoy my images, please consider pledging a dollar or more for each new one I create. At the moment, I'm unlikely to create more than one new image every week or two, but Patreon also lets you set a monthly maximum, so you don't have to worry about going over budget if I have a really productive month.
I will continue to share my work for free online with everyone, so you don't need to donate to continue seeing new images I create. If you choose to become a patron, your money will help me create more prints on lovely high quality materials or it might simply buy me a cup of coffee to keep me working that much longer into the night.
I'm new to this, so I'll be figuring out as I go what to post in my patron only stream, and I'll definitely be responding to feedback from patrons there in order to improve it.
Below you'll see bonuses offered for different donation levels. I'm open to suggestions of other things I might add. (I do sell large prints, and I do accept commissions for custom portraits, but these are things for which I charge quite a lot more than what seems appropriate for this setting. However, if you prefer to do such a transaction through Patreon, I'm more than happy to create a custom reward tier for you. Just contact me with the details.)
Thanks again for stopping by.
