I am a songwriter, painter, and permaculture designer. Through these media, I express visions of the ecologically resilient society that many creative, forward-thinking people will build in our time.

My painting and photography seek to inspire awe from the natural world and the cycles of life. Music and poetry, to me, are an extension of the painting practice - putting into words an image in the mind that can be better heard than seen.

Working with permaculture, or ecological design, not only informs my art practice but also inspires me to work on land projects, urban farms, community building, writing, and in media production. I am currently developing the Center for One Earth Living, creating a platform to share tools for ecological living through arts and media.

The organizational and artistic visions I am working on now require the cutting edge of my skill level and more time than any other work I have accomplished to date. I have had small retreats this year to make little bits of progress on art, yet it is clear to me that in order to truly express my visions in both arts-making and earth-building, I need support and patronage to devote significant time and attention to these creations.

1. VISIONARY ART

If I can express something in visuals or words that supports my audience to connect with our inner and outer nature, to me that is a beautiful service to each person and the world. Visual arts and the written word require both a freedom of time to receive the creative flow and dedicated time for the technical completion of each project.

Current visual projects:
Three-Generations Life Cycle Mandala (acrylics)
Redwood Forest Cathedral (charcoal and pencil)

2. WRITINGS, PODCASTS AND MORE

I envision the Center for One Earth Living to grow into a media platform for online education around permaculture and other strategies for ecological regeneration and human resilience. In the principles of using onsite resources (doing what I already do) and of getting a quick harvest, my next steps in my permaculture practice is to make art around this concept and get it out to the world. With more support and audience, I can begin to get wonky and start writing more articles, produce podcasts and other media. 3. MUSIC

Even single songs require a lot of people, time and money to make - and to make them sound professional! Building off of my 2013 EP - rough recordings of house rehearsals in San Francisco - I would love to produce better recordings of those and new songs together into a second album. Being successful on Patreon will allow me to get the best transmission of it all into your hands.
