About Ian King and Edward Carter

In 2006, a wide-eyed dreamer called Ian King founded the Twohundredpercent football website. Many facelifts, keystrokes and awards later, it remains a respected independent voice in what has become a heaving mass of online football writing and opinion.

In tandem with his idiot friend Edward Carter, Ian went on to produce nearly 300 editions of a football podcast of the same name, until VAR bored his feckless and flighty colleague from the game. What followed was far more interesting yet: a number of solo podcast series written and produced solely by Ian himself, telling stories from the game's history.

2020 saw Twohundredpercent release the Echoes of Glory series, about the history of the non-league game in Britain, as well as a return for Edward in the ten-part Scorchio! series, in which the pair looked at the football video games of their youth.

At the end of the year, both men broken by months of seemingly endless pandemic lockdown and having watched more or less everything on YouTube at least once, Edward and Ian launched This Is Our Everest, a podcast where the two challenge one another to watch old television programmes from the pre-digital era. Why? Because they were there.

2021 sees This Is Our Everest continue on a weekly basis, each man trying to outdo the other by choosing television programmes of such flabbergasting values, attitudes and irrelevance that their opponent will surely break. It hasn't happened yet, but there's a good chance you'll want to be there to witness it when it does. You listen to what we've been up to here.
