The mission of 60 Grit Theatre Company is to expand what is possible in performance by creating rigorous and unusual ensemble-devised works; by training the next generation of daring, innovative theatre artists; and by consistently asking the hardest questions, both in our art and in its relation to the world around us.

We want to push the boundaries of performance by championing bold, new works like 60 Grit's production of Sarah Kane's Blasted which premiered in Maine in 2016 or Duncan Macmillan's People, Places, and Things which will premier in Maine in March 2019.  We continue to challenge the discussion surrounding addiction and mental health by choosing fierce, fearless texts that not only explore a new perspective, but radically change the conversation.  Become a patreon of 60 Grit today to help us expand the conversation.

Goals
$9 of $500 per month
our goal of $500 per month fully covers the cost of our on-going monthly education initiative launching in September 2018.  $500 per month will cover materials, space rental, and the $25 per hour cost of hiring a teaching artist.  60 Grit's new devising lab  will range from small beginnings to a work in progress; from improvisation to creating characters, scenes and story-lines; from scratch to performance - this month (4 classes) of exploration will lead to a work in progress performance on the final day.  We want to expand devising work in Portland, Maine and reaching our goal of $500 a month will be a step in the right direction!
