Alzeimer's Disease Foundation Malaysia (ADFM) aims to help persons with dementia as well as provide support for caregivers.

It is a non-profit organisation (NGO) founded in 1997 by the Rotary Club Shah Alam which was prompted by the growing concern to meet the needs of persons with dementia, primarily Alzheimer’s.

For over two decades, ADFM has provided advise, support, education and training to caregivers, healthcare professionals and the public in topics and education that relate to dementia care skills, awareness and community services.

Due to low awareness and social stigma among Malaysians, advocacy, raising awareness and training on dementia is the central activity of ADFM.

AIM & OBJECTIVES
  • advocate and raise awareness of dementia through public education.
  • provide support and guidance to families and caregivers of persons with dementia.
  • provide training to volunteers and people who are involved in the care of persons with dementia.
  • facilitate the setting up of nationwide support groups for caregivers of persons with dementia.
  • provide collaborative support for facilities and respite for caregivers through the setting up of daycare(s), homecare(s) and a community corner(s) nationwide.
  • promote and disseminate research and updated findings on dementia.
  • raise funds and sponsors to operate the above objectives and community projects.
