If I had an actual theater, I would list you in the program or put your name up on the wall of the lobby. Instead, you will get a shout-out (first name only, I promise) just after the final theme of the next episode I record. Plus, you will get access to EXCLUSIVE MATERIAL (photos, anecdotes, videos) on this Patreon page, in my blog entries, that will only be accessible to Members like  you!

The best view in the house! At this level of support, you get to hear monthly BONUS EPISODES that feature special content that I have researched and recorded. This could be anything from primary source documents to interviews with historians or Philadelphia theater artists. Thank you! You are helping to support historical research, and allowing me to make documentation of my work for future historians and students of the subject.

In addition, I will give you a shout-out (first name only, I promise) after the final end theme of the next episode I record. Because you have ponied up a little more, if you want, I'll do one of my "voices" for you - you can even ask me to do the shout-out in any accent or dialect you want to hear! Just send me a message here on Patreon about your request. I'll give it my best shot! :-)

About Adventures in Theater History

There’s a story to be told about the history of theater and performance in the city of Philadelphia, please join me as I attempt to research and uncover it: The great actors, the canny promoters, the eager audiences, the many Philadelphia theater buildings and performance ensembles that rose and fell (sometimes in flames!) and then rose again - many of which still stand and still provide homes for great drama. Theater history in this city did not happen in a vacuum. It happened in the midst of revolution and violence, creativity and idealism, greed and corruption, urban expansion and cultural conflict. I’m going on an exploration, and over the course of this podcast series, I’m going to tell you quite a few of the stories I’ve learned along the way.

Patreon supporters of the podcast will receive a range of benefits in return - please see the Tiers, above. Thank for your kindness and generosity - they are helping to create an archive of oral history which will further document the history of Philadelphia Theater for the future!
