About AJ Demers
I've worked as a freelance writer, retail merchandiser/product demonstrator, and am a small eCommerce business co-owner/founder. I'm completing my degree in Liberal Arts with concentrations in Anthropology/Sociology and English Literature & Criticism through UMass Dartmouth's online Extension School. (Isn't technology awesome?)
In March 2019, I received some bombshell health news I wasn't expecting. After two trips to the ER when I had a couple of nasty falls in a few days of each other, I found out that I had multiple sclerosis, or MS. My initial diagnosis resulted in an almost month-long stay in the hospital. Physical therapy has helped me regain some of my mobility, but I'm still somewhat limited in what I feel comfortable doing outside the house for work. Also, my hospitalization ended up being a bit expensive even after my insurance paid.
While I am currently doing all my work from home, I would like to have the chance to focus on more creative pursuits like publishing ebooks and other digital products to supplement everything. My current freelancing schedule, with its deadlines, makes this somewhat challenging.
With your support, I'll be able to:

With your support, I'll be able to:
- Continue performing freelance work, therefore helping me maintain independence
- Be in a better position to manage my medical expenses, which are high in people with MS
- Get some books I have been working on published, which you can read about if you subscribe to my public updates
- Develop the eCommerce business that my mother and I own further
