Brian I can certainly see the Oni vibe, thanks! I used a purple background, then a transparent layer of black with two white stripes to create the light. I tried blending the edges of the white lines to get the lighting effect. However, I think I need to experiment more to make it look more natural.

Sakimi Chan who this is pretty cool, as always dig the old school rpg look of your work :D the integration of the ice crystals into his fur is a nice touch to tie the whole icy theme together :)

Sakimi Chan nice one, it's always nice to challenge yourself with different poses :) I think you pulled it off pretty well, the staff looks well placed, the part that might be off is the the shading, On right round side of the staff the shading is lighter compared to the rest of the shading on that side, just need to make sure the shading goes all the way around :) keep it up !

Sakimi Chan nice one brian : D I really like how your work reminds me of the old school rpg art, like never winter night and dungeons and dragons haha. , I think ur art improved in general, the lines and the coloring is cleaner as well :) I think it'd look even more dramatic if the bears was submerged in shadow from his waist down :)I'd put a nice shadow gradient .

Sakimi Chan I love the idea, she;s adorable *_* I think a slightly dark grey color would work better : ) usually we don't want to go full black for bg unless it's those b/w drawings XD i think her wigs are pretty nice, love the design, maybe just clean up the edges a bit, they seem a bit rough :3 oh man, autodesk pro7 is pretty dark for me get use to XD Photoshop is so much easier for me ! Can't wait to see more !

Brian The bg was supposed to be transparent so it could go on any other site the user wanted. Seeing it on black was the first time I realized the edig was as rough as it was. I am hoping watching the video will teach me how to use Photoshop which seems overwhelming at the moment.

Sakimi Chan yes, photoshop at first can be a bit hard to get to used to, but ones you do, you will love it : ) but I usually just use the eraser brush to clean up the rough edges on my pictures!
