About The DM's Den
Greetings dungeon delvers and fellow DMs, and welcome to the Patreon Page for The DM's Den.
This Patreon has been around for some time.
When I first began this endeavor, my life was very different in direction and scheduling. Over the years, I have gone from consistent videographer to blogger to painter, all while struggling with what I wanted this Patreon to be.
And after a good long while of thinking critically on what energizes me and who has rallied behind me for this long haul, I've settled on three main categories of support and follow-through:
1) For my Readers: this is still the best way to support my writing and keep the website from being consumed by idiotic ads. I'd love to get to the point where no ads need to featured on the website. If you read my stuff, use the resources on the website, or otherwise enjoy my written content, then showing that support through the Spryte and Halfling Tiers is the best avenue for you.
2) For my Collectors: I LOVE curating dice (and designing my own) and painting miniatures (and designing my own) for you all. A Goblin receives click-clacks in the mail (2 sets per shipment, so 1 set a month). A Gnome (previously a "Fellow Human") gets "first pick" on a growing catalogue of finished miniatures every month of a certain size category; nothing of interest? then "bank" your month and "save up" for something bigger. And I've added the Kobold Tier, where you get choice of a miniature (Medium - Huge choices) and a dice set every month.
3) For my Players: I have been running professional campaigns for 5 years now and they have become some of the most rewarding and elevated experiences for my players, and for me. I want to offer the option for my Players to roll their gaming into this Patreon, both for their ease and for my focus. It may not work for everyone's budget, but the option is open to those that commit to play consistently; these upper tiers can offer an alternative option for their budget.
This also opens the door for new players across the world to join in. Caution: there is an interview process. A gaming table can be a delicate thing, and I have the final say. There are also limited seats available for this option. Remember, the idea here is to MAINTAIN this model, not run it into the ground.
So, in short, there are three "categories" of Tiers to choose from:
Readers (Spryte and Halfling tiers) - general support for the Blog, Fiction, Spell Compendium, Custom Classes, and building momentum to personal publication.
Collectors (Goblin, Gnome, Kobold) - essential support for painting and dice creation/curating, as well as a personal connection to a miniature painter and their journey.
Players (Warrior, Vanguard, Clan, Dragon Knight) - a structured support for your professional GM; these tiers ensure monthly and weekly games, as well as exclusive custom and home-brew content.
PS: A video is being produced for my YouTube channel and here explaining this in more detail. Stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by. Have an excellent day, and please continue to be awesome to one another.
