What is The Adventist History Podcast?

The Adventist History Podcast is a monthly program where we tell a story of the Seventh-day Adventist Church - from a millennial's perspective. Each episode is carefully researched and then carefully thrown out the window as host Matthew Lucio panics.

To date, we've had well over 100,000 downloads from tens of thousands of listeners - and we're just getting started. Matthew has been invited around the world to share stories from our Adventist past. There's even a Russian-language version of the podcast, hosted by Victor Muzica. Agreements have been made for a Spanish and Portuguese version as well. How cool is that?

What's The Vision?

It's simple: We believe the Adventist story matters and we want more people to know Adventist history. Your support will help us achieve our goals, which are to:

  • release special episodes each month
  • produce books and new-media resources
  • create cool swag for young Adventists
  • make episodes that go much deeper into parts of Adventist history
  • be able to advertise the podcast around the world, including a booth at the General Conference Session in 2020!
  • upgrade our technical quality

The Adventist History Podcast is for everyone, but we are especially focused on creating new-media resources for younger Adventists.

What's Next?

Who is the Host?

Matthew J. Lucio is an Adventist pastor in Illinois. He first had the idea for the podcast in 2011, but chickened out. He wasn't able to shake the conviction that he should do the podcast, and so he began on October 22, 2014. He has a wife, Laura, and two daughters, Aerith and Arwen.
