  How did this all begin...
As a small boy I loved the sea and watching movies about the South Pacific.  I became captivated by the beauty of the islands, it's cultures and the exotic underwater life that Jacques Cousteau brought to everyone in the 1960's. As a young man serving as a Navy Deep Sea Diver, I was privileged to see some of the South Pacific. Unfortunately our ship passed by many of the islands I longed to see.  After completing my tour of duty I opened a Dive shop in California. We thought SCUBA classes and took our customers to exotic places like the Bahamas, Honduras, Mexico and to Fiji. Fiji was fantastic and I made sure that we returned many times to those fantastic islands. Once again I was tied to a schedule and could not explore the islands out on the horizon. Now I have a 38 foot blue water cruising sail boat that can take me to the islands on the horizon. For the past three years we have been preparing the boat for the journey across the Pacific. We have also been preparing ourselves by completing many many courses on sailing such as mechanics, first aid, electronics, weather, plumbing, and navigation and several more.
We are fast approaching a departure date, sometime near the end of 2018 we hope to untie the dock line for the last time in California and set sail for those islands on the horizon..

I also have a personal mission while on this journey. While in Fiji I discovered a need that has not been addressed. The old folks on the islands are in serious need of reading glasses. So far we have handed out about 2000 pair of reading glasses to old folks. Their faces brighten up when they can see clearly again. I plan to fill up the boat with as many reading glasses and just give them away as we sail from island to island.
Thank you for joining us on this ocean adventure. Stay tuned, much more to come.

We have been working on Magic for three years to prepare her for this South Pacific Voyage. She is nearly ready, however , a few more projects need to be completed. Once we cast off that stern line and set sail our regular income stops. This is the reason we joined Patreon to help us fund the upkeep of the boat.  I am looking forward to creating videos of the project to show you exactly how your generous contributions help.  Thank you with all my heart for your interest and  your contributions.  Now, raise the anchor, set the main and the jib sails and we are off to the South Pacific and the islands over the horizon.
