About me,
My name is Phillip Young, i am 46 years young, i am overweight and in bad health. i had a stroke  on 12-13-12 on my way home from work. my stroke was caused by a blood clot that lodged in my cerebellum and caused damage to my left and right side. my left side has weakness and lessened coordination. my right side has constant pain, feels like i'm wind burned. This area of the brain controls eye use, or controls vision for lack of better description, it also controls balance and my ability to identify where i am in space or proprioception. Due to my left side being weakened and coordination being affected my inner ear on my left side no longer works. all of these things are getting better but i still have a long road of recovery in front of me. as a result of this stroke and disability i have become very sedentary which caused me to gain over 100 lbs.
Now what i intend to do about this, i had bariatric surgery in august of 2017 and as of now have lost 70 lbs. i have started hiking for exercise and have set a goal of hiking the AT or Appalachian Trail in 2019, a 2200 mile trail from Georgia to Maine.  i intent to video this adventure and post on Youtube weekly updates or as cell service allows. i have gear to do this trail with but its old heavy gear i need to replace with ultra light setup. i hope you will join the adventure and support my journey in stroke recovery. Thanks in advance and hope to see you on the trail.
