We are an independent game studio named Always Mind Studios based in Montreal, Quebec. After graduating from the Independent Video Game Design (IVDG) program at Dawson College, with a lot of passion for making games, diverse skills and abilities we decided to put them together to create AMS. With our first games already released and available on itch.io, our goal now is to delve into new and innovative ventures in the multimedia industry as we begin exploring new technologies.

As we stand our position is one of integration as we hope to work with as many different studios as possible in a cooperative manner, allowing us to diversify our capabilities as game designers. We have strength in diversity, creativity and passion. Our employees come from varied and different backgrounds, including programming, art, animation and game design.

As an independent video game corporation our main focus is to conceive new concepts in the media entertainment world, with as much diverse talent as possible as we forge our own path. We have creative concepts in a variety of spectrum's ranging from incubating other companies in our studios to physical games even encompassing card and board games. In-Verse

The goal of In-Verse is for players to defeat other opponents by acquiring pickups that are randomly generated on the procedural map and utilizing these pick ups to their advantage all the while managing their energy to make sure they survive in matches of attrition. Players will strategically move around using teleportation, jetpacking as well as inverting gravity while shooting at each other, around two inverted procedural/destructible levels to acquire special weapons and pickups randomly generated on the map. Players will then proceed to use these pickups on the procedural map in hopes other players will fall into their traps or onto the kill floor by inverting their gravity using the Inverter pistol to eventually win the game, earn experience, resources and gain credits. Equipped with the Inverter pistol, players can acquire other weapons during gameplay, place traps they have picked up on the map as well as invert another player's gravity to send them into the traps or the killfloor/ceiling and players can in turn invert their own gravity using energy to avoid falling into a trap or the killfloor/ceiling. Player’s must be strategic in their usage of energy though, as it is used for everything from their shield to their personal invert gravity function, to their teleport and to even their jetpack. Players will eventually be able to fully customize armors, weapons as well their attachments, create custom skins as well as edit custom maps they can upload for the community to use, allowing users to integrate their own creator content into the game and be able to upgrade their stats to customize their armors all the while respecting their armor's weight capacity. The game will employ crypto monetization methods as well as conventional methods allowing us to explore an untapped market with a scheduled early beta release date on PC for 2019 including a F2P demo with a free for all battle royale mode along with a unique shrinking vertical play area and a Premium price of 25.99$ unlocking all extra content.


Unique Selling Points

  • First shooter to combine elements of arena and competitive first person shooters as well as hero shooters with a mix of rpg systems.
  • First game to feature crossplay between VR, PC and console players.
  • First FPS to possibly be good for the brain, increasing hippocampus activity rather than ultimately reducing it due to it's random design theory.
  • First shooter to have both a procedural and destructible environment.
  • First shooter to incorporate strategy mechanics like teleportation, inverting gravity, jet-packing, trap placement and environmental hazards allowing for seamless play between VR, MR, PC or consoles.

We plan on shipping the game first to PC through the Windows store platform as well as on Steam, Itch.io, Gamejolt and through our website. For the VR/MR build we plan on having it available for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Acer Windows MR and any other Windows MR devices If Microsoft allows it we will possibly have it available for Playstation VR. For our console build there is a possibility it might only be available for Xbox One.

Team In-Verse

Team In-verse is an an international team that came together to bring their passion for making a different unique game together by the means of multiple social media interactions including Unity Connect and Facebook. It is our first project together but we are all dedicated veterans of the industry.

Funding


The total amount of funds required to run this project for a long term totals a number that very few indies can rival. Any little bit can help us on our journey.

We would require funds to act as fund leverage as we plan to apply for CMF (Canadian Media Fund) funding soon asking for 750,000.00$ CAD from the Canadian government but would need a total of 262,500.00$ to get it. The current bare minimum amount we would need to get through until we can make the beta demo would be 46,171.60$. Except for myself who is full time, we are all currently working on it part time but I am searching for a way to make it full time for the team. Once we get some development funding from CMF and have a fully working F2P game we plan a raising a Kickstarter to hopefully help fully fund our project and allow us to apply for a larger production and commercialization CMF grant.
