About Amelia Robinson of Mil's Trills

I'm an arts educator, composer, and founder of award-winning children's music project Mil's Trills, who believes that music can change the world. Join me as I unveil tips, tools, activities, and resources that aim to spark creativity & joy at home, at work, and in the classroom.

The Mil's Trills Messy Music Method is a play-centered approach that helps children & adults feel accepted, encouraged, and valued through the process of making music. I created this method during a two-year fellowship from the Jubilation Foundation, where I was recognized for an excellence in bringing joy to children through music & rhythm.

Guiding Principles:
  • Making music can help us learn about ourselves and build strong relationships to others.
  • A creative life is a fulfilling life.
  • Being creative helps us process our emotions.

For KIDS who:
  • give up easily
  • have difficulty focusing
  • feel defeated by competition or challenges

For PARENTS who want their child to:
  • fail… and be ok with it
  • remain curious, creative, and confident as they grow
  • limit screen time

For EDUCATORS / TEACHING ARTISTS who want:
  • to cultivate a more meaningful teaching practice
  • students to build autonomy, mindfulness & empathy
  • students to work independently & in small groups.

The Approach:

  • Learner driven: adaptable to each student's specific needs.
  • Process over product: nourish the experience rather than let being defined by the end result.
  • Challenging expectations: unearth the student's potential and highlight their strengths.

Together, we will learn to:
  • transform failure into growth
  • reframe mistakes as learning opportunities
  • accept ourselves and self motivate

No music experience necessary.
Suitable for children (5+), adults, and educators / teaching artists.
Goals
$53.35 of $1,000 per month
When I reach $1,000 I'll hire a visual artist to begin illustrating the Mil's Trills "Guide to Songwriting" book!
