I'm an Automotive engineer with experience working on 4x4s, cars, ATVs and Motorcycles. I'm NZ WoF qualified & worked as an Automotive lecturer in Auckland City. I initially started uploading workshop task type videos for my students to use as part of their 'e-learning' aspects of their course when I worked as an Automotive Lecturer at Unitec in Auckland, New Zealand.

These videos gave the students 24/7 access to some really useful information. I run my own small workshop too and actively undertake a wide range of workshop jobs. The content of the channel has grown due to requests and the various repair jobs that come in. Presently I see the channel developing to becoming a useful resource for students, DIY mechanics and just about anyone who fixes, tinkers or generally is keen to have a go and fix their vehicle themselves...

Since February 2017 I have enrolled the help of assistants in the workshop, you'll see that a number of videos have 'Tool Girls' helping out which is often great fun and adds a whole new dimension to the channel. However, many of the technical & diagnostic type videos are not with Tool Girls as, well, I need to concentrate!

Some videos cover really basic tasks like changing a bulb, others complete engine rebuilds. If you can't find a video covering what your looking for then just ask...

If you'd like to send something through the post to either Andy or one of the Tool Girls (they love clothes by the way!) then here's the address...we will be sure to give you a mention in the next 'Mail call' video :-)

Purchase of a 'project' motorcycle
$10 or more per month

To date the repair videos have been on a wide range of vehicles. I'd like to purchase an older motorcycle with faults, probably a non runner but one that can be put back on the road.

Your donation will go directly towards the purchase & improvements of whichever old motorcycle is chosen.

You'll be given an opportunity to vote towards which bike to buy - out of a short list of 3 bikes & when the time comes.

I'll perform a full strip & rebuild of the bike fixing all the major faults along the way, ultimately getting the bike back on the road & then we can go on an adventure ride to somewhere you (the viewers) decide!

Now, the team down at Patreon sent me an email he other day relating to the following bit of text that was in the original post:

All supporters of the project will 'go into the draw to choose the place in New Zealand that I'll have to ride this completed bike to!'

Unfortunately, it turns out that any kind of 'draw' or 'raffle' is against Patreon policy, yet, in this case the 'chosen one' doesn't actually 'win' anything, instead, they get to choose a destination.

Unfortunately, again, Patreon still class this as a breach so the above in BOLD now, no longer applies. Instead it has been updated, at Patreon's request, by the following text:

From the final list of supporters of this project one individual will be chosen, by Marmite the Workshop dog, to decide on the destination point for the ride.

Just to confirm, this is not a raffle nor a draw & the person selected does not win any money or prize. They will be selected using very specific criteria of which is only know to Marmite.

Once Marmite has selected a supporter they will be contacted & asked for the destination point for the ride.

Many thanks

Goals
$66 of $500 per month
Hopefully, when we reach $500 of donations I'll seek out an old neglected motorcycle hidden away in a barn somewhere & I'll do a full strip down and rebuild - this will generate a great series of videos covering the journey.

Once the bike is back up and running we can head out on an adventure ride to some unknown destination somewhere in New Zealand - one lucky viewer will get to choose the destination & I'll have to ride the bike all the way there!
