My name is Angie and I self-identify as a Unicorn. Look! I know that sounds strange! Stick with me for a min... I'll explain. The reason I identify with this idea is that no one BELIEVES in unicorns, not really! I get it. Now I know you're like, "Wait. What?!" But the reason I love this idea is that Unicorns - being a magical creature - cannot exist unless SOMEONE believes in them...AND since no one REALLY believes in them... The only way for them to survive is that they BELIEVE in THEMSELVES. Makes a bit more sense now, eh? You see, I hope that my positive impact on the world gets people to take notice and to believe in my dreams... But, it's rare to find people who are going to push for your success more than you can for yourself. Identifying as a "unicorn" is a way to remind myself that I have to believe in me, most of all or I can not survive.
I want to build a business that has integrity and humanity. I want to make art! I want to frolick around the country in my tiny camper and bring magic and glitter and COLOR to people's lives! I plan on doing this by providing tutorials, and possibly classes or workshops in the future. I want to inspire others to take charge of their lives through art. People tell me all the time how they "could never" make art! And that simply isn't true. Art doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't have to be pretty! It should be fun! It should be a place where people can come to let go of the stresses of life and recharge their batteries. If I can inspire one person to make some changes towards a better life, I think it will all be worth it.
Money. Yes, it comes down to money. Most things do. I'm here because I can't do all the things I want to do without help., I am tired of working in a dead-end job where my soul is crushed into submission every day. I want to escape from the mundane existence I've been surviving for the last 20 years and become the person I am destined to be. I also have some health issues that have really hindered me from being able to continue working a full-time day job. High levels of stress tend to increase the symptoms I've been experiencing... And I've been advised by a doctor that to find a less stressful work situation. So, I should probably heed that advice.
For those who have supported me over the years, I want to be able to give back. A lot of you probably remember that I used to be able to donate items to rescue groups and other animal charities. Sadly, but I really can't afford to anymore. It's about materials AND time. In fact, a lot of you out there were probably introduced to my art because I donated to a charity auction or event you attended. That being said, you might have noticed that you haven't seen anything at these events from me in the last few years. I'd like to change that and get back to helping how and where I can.
My recent situation has been pretty tough. As many of my longtime followers know, I've had to work a lot of long hours to support myself and my family. Having to uproot and move 2k miles away from home on short notice has been QUITE the challenge.. but Onward and upward!
So, these are my goals:
- Paint more. Create more art.
- Give back! Help raise money for worthwhile causes.
- Inspire people to be creative and to find their inner artist
- Support me and my family through my art!
- Become a better artist.
- Create Videos and extras to share with followers
