Hi - I'm Jemma Hooper, and AntipodeYarns is a media production business that I'm trying to get off the ground. Our goal is to develop and showcase story-telling talent from Adelaide in South Australia. We are a little off the beaten track, but we punch above our weight in our ability to compete in the content economy. Many Australian box-office favourites have been produced here, and we're proud of our heritage in content production.

We are applying a story-telling and narrative analysis technique that I've been working on for a while called the "Five Cs" - this is a moniker for the key components of an engaging story: Character, Context, Conflict, Choice and Consequences. When used correctly, this iterative approach is the bedrock of getting audiences hooked on a narrative and drawing them in further. It is intuitive, but as far as I can tell, nobody has written it up in this form before.

To start with, we are going to be tapping into the live play tabletop roleplaying game podcast/vodcast zeitgeist. We are running a D&D 5th Edition campaign called "The Great Divergence" and a Star Trek Adventures campaign using the 2d20 system from Modiphius called "At the Edge of Conflict". Over time, we want to expand our content slate to include how-to content, serialised scripted drama and possibly even film production. We also want to engage with the fandom community via conventions and industry events.

So stay tuned and watch this space. We've got plenty of content coming and both RPG campaigns are well under way!

This buys us a Blackmagic Designs cinema camera and an MFT Lens. We need at least three of these if we're going to do video recording of our roleplay sessions, and at least one for how-to content. Ideally we'd like a couple of extras in case of hardware faults, lens breakages, etc.
