About

Hi, I'm Cristian Barrio.
I'm a passionate developer who from my beginnings have been experimenting and doing videogames with all the languages and programming tools I've known throughout my life. Among the most time invested I can highlight  Div 2 Games Studio with which I made a terrifying shooter using mode8 and a basic spaceship arcade game. With Xna Game Studio I made a mod for de Xbox Formido port adding multiplayer options, a better leaderboard manager and new weapons and enemies, it was the hardest but the funniest work I've ever done :D.
With the rises of smartphone I started to invest my time getting experience with Android. At first making Apps, and trying to do some game with very low perfomance. Then I discovered the cross-platform engines world ( Cocos2dUnity and Unreal engine 4) and I started doing little things with each one. Finally I chose the last one, UE4, and now I'm making mobile games learning something new every day.

Why Unreal Engine 4?

I started making mobile games but in the future I plan moving to desktop, even both. I have more than 6 years of expience using C++ so I feel more comfortable using an engine with this language and UE4 has a great visual editor too. Besides is completely free to try, you can have a complete full editor at absolutely no cost. Unity has a free version, but you need to spend some serious money to access the Pro version.

Why Patreon?

Well, Patreon is a great opportunity to be able to dedicate all my productive time to create things that I love. Its very hard to create free stuff and get enough monetization to continue doing more good free material and this is only achieved with a community that supports you.

What next?

I will start a tutorial series about Unreal Engine 4, from the installation and setup until the game is released. I want to share what I learn during the creative (artistic and coding) process, while I continue making games. The content of tutorials, from the more basic sprite manipulation to the use of shaders, all with very simple explanations :)
Well, i think that's all for now, so thx for reading.

Thanks so much! :D
