Milestone Goals
Shattered For Patrons only
This target will pay for the website costs and the cost of my phone and internet connection - kind of important if I am to keep posting. If we reach it I will release my Traditional Fantasy WIP Shattered on Patreon
on top of my other serials with an installment posting on the 8th of each month.
Shattered Once a Fortnight for Patrons or monthly on the website
While $100 wouldn't make a major impact on my living expenses it would enable to pay for the publication of the book versions of my stories without separate crowdfunding campaigns as well as covering my internet and phone as above. In return I will begin to post Shattered once a month on the website and once a fortnight on here for Patrons.
Shattered Weekly for Patrons or fortnightly on the website.
This is the point at which you begin to impact my day to expenses while far from enough live on this amount of money would allow me to start saving more money for emergencies. Patrons will now get Shattered weekly and it will be released fortnightly on the website.
Shattered Twice Weekly for Patrons and weekly on the Website
Approx a quarter of the money I need to live frugally. This amount of pledges would pay my utility bills on top of all the other stuff. Shattered will now be released weekly on the website and twice weekly for Patrons. I'll add further goals towards making a living once we each this one.
About
Becka Sutton is a self-described crazy cat lady, but she’s not very good at it: while she is crazy she only has one cat. She was born in Britain in 1972 and has lived there her entire life. In her early teens she started scrawling fantasy stories in exercise books her mother bought her to stop her scribbling in her school books. She hasn’t stopped writing since, and she credits writing as the outlet that allowed her to recover from the nervous breakdown she had after her parents died.
Her other interests include reading, listening to music, attempting to draw, growing her own vegetables and looking after the aforementioned Pumpkin cat.
No, you can’t read the novel she scrawled as a teen – she burned it long ago because it was awful.

Hi,
I'm Becka and since January 2010 I've been posting my fantasy web serial "The Dragon Wars Saga" on my website Firebird Fiction twice a week without fail. I've also posted all of the first novel of my paranormal fantasy series "The Haventon Chronicles" and I'm currently posting a Science Fantasy Space Opera Serial "The Whisper of Damkina".
The only money I've got out of this so far is from the crowdfunding campaigns to fund book versions of the first two arcs of the Dragon Wars Saga, a few book sales and a couple of donations. This didn't bother me since I had a decently paid day job.
Unfortunately on 30th June 2014 the day job went away.
The company I worked for is closed the site I work at and I've been looking for work while shifting between temporary jobs ever since. It's exhausting in a way a stable job never was and it's cutting into my writing time. If there was ever a time to start making a living from my writing this is it. At the very least it needs to start paying for itself.
So I figured it couldn't hurt to ask my readers.
You read my stuff so you presumably enjoy it, so if you have some spare pennies each month (I know not everyone does) consider pledging some of them to me to help me pay my web hosting and living expenses. If you don't have any pennies that's fine you can also help by spreading word of mouth about my work. Thank you.
