Welcome to the Inner Circle

We are Black Candle Games, a small publisher focused on creating inspired, accessible, and evocative adventures and supplements for tabletop RPGs. We also develop our own games, and currently have one in the works. If you'd like to see some of our stuff, check here.

Who Even Are You People?

Collectively, we have decades of experience creating and running games. We also have the experience of 5 ENnies under our belt, as well as multiple best-seller medals on DriveThruRPG. We've worked with some of the biggest publishers in the RPG industry such as Wizards of the Coast, Schwalb Entertainment, Kobold Press, and Baldman Games. While it's been great to work with them on an individual basis, we needed a space to call our own, and so we formed in early 2018.

What Is This Patreon For?

Being a small publisher starting from next to nothing means it's nigh impossible to build up funds for an art budget or pay freelancers, graphic designers, and other talented folks to help us ensure our releases are among the best small publishers have to offer. We're committed to our mission of creating content at dwarven craftsmanship levels - this means no clip art, clean and professional layouts, and consistent aesthetics. Patreon will not only allow us to grow closer to our community, but also help ensure we can stay true to our quality commitment.

All funds earned via this Patreon will 100% be poured back into our work. In addition to costs discussed above, a small portion of these funds would go to general costs of operation such as annual domain registration & web hosting.

Also, you'll have opportunities to submit your own creations to be included (and credited) within some of our products. Additionally upon request, Cultists can have a Black Candle Games sticker mailed to them.
