About Black Girls Brunch UK

Black Girls Brunch is an event space for Black Women* to have a seat at their own table.

So often Black Women are ‘one of’ in a room of professionals. We created Black Girls Brunch to remind Black Women that they are not alone, that there are likeminded women who deal with challenges and the same issues that they too face. By creating an event for Black Women to network and connect with others in different fields thus creating professional and personal relationships; we hope to aid in the empowerment and growth of Black Women as a collective.

Our main events are comprised of guest speakers, a facilitated workshop, a discussion and of course food and networking. We also provide gift bags to each of our attendants; these are predominately made up of Black Women Owned businesses.
We will be expanding Black Girls Brunch, to host a couple of more intimate and casual events throughout the year to further support our attendees and broaden the accessibility of our events.

We aim to create a space for Black women to come together and be their authentic selves and to network so they can grow professionally and psychologically.

*In this context, we define ‘Black’ as of Black African, Caribbean, Afro-Latinx and African-American heritage, including those of mixed-Black heritage who identify as such.

Our Story:
I created Black Girls Brunch because I really wanted a space I could get together with women while I was away from home studying at University. As the only Black Woman on my course, I was at times extremely isolated. I wanted to dress up, look beautiful and spend time with Women who looked like me and shared the same experiences as me. I couldn’t find anything like it so, I decided to create it. The first one was a complete success, all tickets sold out and we had a waiting list. After constant badgering of when the next one would be, I realised there was a definite need for Black Girls Brunch. With the help of friends, family and fundraisers I have been able to host
