I'll be able to work on games comfortably and full-time. That means less freelance work and more putting out games! Also I'll probably be less stressed out, yay emotional well-being!
Travelling
$1,000 per month
I'll be able to use the extra money to travel to events and promote my work! It's also probably good for my health to get out now and then.

I'll be able to gradually afford new equipment, that's great! I can work with what I've got, but who knows what greater opportunity brings?

I'm Lulu Blue, and I make videogames. In addition to games, I have professional experience in illustration, sound design, UI/UX, games criticism, and software engineering. I've worked on games such as Fantastic Witch Collective, Bunny Bunny Smackdown, We Know The Devil, the Indiecade-recognized Filo Filo Disco, and much more. In addition, I'm involved with Alpha Six Productions, an Olympia, WA-based game studio and digital arts collective.

Generally, my work focuses on social dynamics and the exploration of social systems in both serious and entertaining ways. I have a fondness for expressing sincerity, tenderness, queerness and community through my work. I like to explore alternative digital aesthetics which speak to value systems removed from the capitalistic commercialism which permeates much of games.

I've come to Patreon because the patron model fits my artistic interests. This way I can have a steady stream of support while I focus on pursuing what really matters: creating interesting and valuable art objects. With patron support I seek to release as much work as I can for free so that they be accessible as possible. It also lets me create things which normally wouldn't sell, which I find extremely valuable. It lets me explore my ideas to their fullest and then move on to the next thing, uncompromised by needing to fit them into a marketable product.

Why support me? With more support, I can be better secured a sustainable work environment (I'm a bit on the fringe right now), travel to industry events, and possibly afford to upgrade my equipment/purchase devkits/etc. These are all very important to me to stay afloat and keep up with the industry as it moves. In addition, you'll get access to my developer blog and I'll let you pick apart my brain as much as you like. You'll also get any work I sell for free! So if you find my work worthwhile, your support would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
- Lulu Blue
