About Bonnie James

Since 1998, Free Computer Repairs has become a well-known Computer Repair Service in the Tularosa Basin. What started out as a hobby when I became disabled has now become my passion and I am delighted to share it with you.
Any parts I use to repair/upgrade your system that are in stock, you pay what I paid.

I work for free.
I do not ask for any upfront or hourly rates.

I accept donations (if you can afford one) or even a Wal-Mart gift card.
But, a donation is never required or expected.
I have references from people that I have helped with their technical woes. Just ask and I can give you some names and phone numbers of very happy people.

If I take a little longer to get to your computer lately, I apologize. Things have been rough on my health the last year. I am disabled (Lupus, severe kidney failure and severe diabetes) and a veteran.

Everything has broken over the last few years, and I have become overwhelmed.

Last year my bathroom ceiling decided to collapse. I went to Habitat for Humanity (HFH) to see if they had parts or knew someone who could please fix it. I filled out form after form and they happily sent out a contractor to access the damage. He took one look at the crack that is about 1 inch wide and goes all the way through my house front wall (about 1 1/2 feet of adobe and brick) into my bedroom and did not even really bother to look at the bathroom ceiling. He said that my house could not be repaired because the whole foundation was unstable. HFH said that my house was scheduled to be demolished at the Big Give in July last year and I needed to find a place to live for up to 6 months. They said that they would move in a manufactured home. I bought a $375 dilapidated travel trailer and was excitedly waiting for The Big Give. July came and went then time hit warp and I still have not heard back from HFH. I buy caulk by the case and am studiously trying to ignore the collapsed bathroom ceiling which was all I wanted help with.

Then, my owner Maow-Maow was bitten by a rattlesnake in her right eye while she was IN the house. She is an indoor only master with her delicate complexion. It took my entire savings to pay her medical bills. She is alive, well and bossy as ever and just lost the sight in her eye thanks to a great veterinarian. Although hiss noises tend to send her claws to the wall.

Then, last November, the house heater decided that after around 45 years of faithful service it was time to expire. With some very expensive parts a friend was kindly able to resuscitate it to maybe serve another winter.
To ad the cherry on top of the ice cream sundae that is my life, the Friday before Christmas  last year my hot water heater decided to crumble in a glorious waterfall of rust and well water. Well, It is August and I just paid that off.
But, I woke up this morning!
Funny thing though, I have developed rather unhealthy obsessions for travel trailers and tools...

Tank Fund
Soon the Tank will be put back on computer call duty. I do not know if I can survive any more with out heat and air conditioning. Also, my gas bills will quadruple.
My whole family is being transferred from England to Alaska. My cozy borrowed truck will be going with them.
