YouTube is a site that has its fair share of ups and downs meaning that even if some months you do well with ad revenue it doesn't mean you always will. Patreon is a great way to donate directly to people you enjoy so there is another form of income to help make the world of content creation a lot more stable. This is totally optional and if you can't donate don't worry my content will always be free with ads.
