I'm making 3D files for tabletop miniatures. I'm focusing on objects for role-playing games rather than wargames, and that can be 3D printed.

Every release will include (at least) one 3D-printable miniature as an STL file. You can send that file to 3D Hubs to be printed locally or Shapeways for an expensive, super high-res print.

The minis I make may be part of an environment, like a sarcophagus or a rack of weapons. They may be creatures, like a goblin or a wolf.

I will succesfully 3D print each of my designs on my Printrbot before I release the file, and I'll post a photo of the print.

I will focus on designs that print on current generation desktop 3D printers without "support" (extra rods needed to support overhanging bits). In other words, you should be able to print the file directly, without any fiddling. If I do release an object that uses support, I'll also include a version that doesn't require it (presumably, with the overhanging bits truncated).

Every file will be released for free on the internet for anyone to download and print. Every file will be licensed Creative Commons Attribution, which will allow anyone to remix the file and even sell those remixes if desired.

Here are the designs I plan to make:
  • Rack of weapons
  • Gravel terrain in 1-inch squares
  • Grass terrain in 1-inch squares
  • A goblin (small humanoid) with a raised club
  • Free-standing archway
  • Rough wood table
  • Stone door with demon head carved in it
  • Stone door with dragon head carved in it
  • Stalagmites
  • Square columns that taper at the "top" (print upside-down)
  • Staircase
  • Ark of the Covenant
  • Rope Bridge
  • Chair
  • Throne
  • Swamp Undergrowth
  • Forest undergrowth
  • Skeletal trees
  • Bushes
  • Well
  • Cart (horse-drawn)
