ABOUT OUR ONGOING FOOD & SUPPORT PROGRAMS
Buddha Maitreya the Christ, and His wife Mandarava Tara, are creating ongoing food programs to provide 'Prasadam' in various holy areas around the world. Their program started in April of 2019 in the greater Kathmandu area of Nepal, near many holy Buddhist sites.
The programs have continued to expand to include Glastonbury, England (UK), site of the first church of Jesus the Christ; Omaha, Nebraska (USA), and for many years Lake County, California (USA) near the Shambhala Vajradhara Maitreya Sangha Monastery.
Sangha (monks and nuns), volunteers and food service teams provide food and support to the needy, the homeless, disabled/senior centers, schools, orphanages, and monasteries. Each meal costs around $3.50 with clothing and bedding in addition.
We are continuing to expand the size of the program, as we are able, to feed more of those in need. So your ongoing patronage and support for charity for others is greatly appreciated!

PROGRAMS in KATHMANDU, NEPAL
Over the past 20 years Buddha Maitreya the Christ and Tulku Mandarava Tara have supported Monasteries and Monastic communities in Nepal, as well as set up 5 free Homeopathic and Soul Therapy clinics. In April 2019 they initiated the Food Program focused on feeding those most in need - the young, elderly and those with mental and physical health challenges within the Kathmandu Valley. From small beginnings the Food Program developed to feeding 5000 - 8000 needy people each month at an average cost of $2500/week.
As the program expanded it became clear that we needed a more permanent structure and in 2020 we were granted NGO (non governmental organization) status as the "Buddha Tara Center". The onset of the pandemic in early 2020 changed the nature of the support we were able to offer as like most countries, stay at home restrictions were put in place and the daily food program schedule was put on hold.
Support to those in need continued - providing groceries and medicines to struggling neighborhood families, travelers in and out of Kathmandu airport and through local schools to support extremely low income parents who are under even greater pressure to provide basic food for themselves and their children. Every few days approximately 25 different families are provided with basic food items to last them up to 1 month.
In addition monthly support is provided to Vihars (Temples) and Monasteries in and around Kathmandu to ensure that all of the monastic community has access to basic needs to maintain their health and wellness.
Current Average Monthly Costs:
Each week up to 200 meals per location are served, care-taking the most vulnerable. In Nepal due to Covid we are feeding about 25 families with raw foodstuffs to last a month....every few days for about $1,500 each time.

PROGRAM in OMAHA, NEBRASKA
In May 2019, Buddha Maitreya the Christ and Tara started a daily food program from the Buddha Maitreya Soul Therapy Center in Omaha, NE. The 3 sangha members in service at the Omaha Center initially made 30 sandwiches and purchased bottled water daily, driving through Omaha to distribute to the homeless and those in need. Coffee and snacks (nuts, fresh and dried fruit, bars etc.) were added and in September the number of food sacks being made and delivered daily increased to 60.
September we increased the level of support being offered to include needed clothing, blankets, hygiene products, boots, hats and gloves. In addition the homeless were offered Jesus the Christ's Etheric Weaver pendants to wear and MP3 players with His blessing and invocation music. As we have developed relationships within the community we have also been able to help connect vulnerable individuals into housing, medical care and different areas of community support.
Each day we drive across Omaha where the homeless and vulnerable gather, to support their body, mind and spirit. The 3 sangha members in Omaha each spend an average of 6 hours per day to shop, prepare, pack and distribute as part of the local food program. This is done 6 days a week, with volunteers covering every Sunday.

$1400 - Food Costs/week (60 meal bags daily - $3/bag plus water and coffee)
