Benjamin Stannard Jim let me tell you a story. I live in Japan. Japan is a deep and sexiest country. Example the other day I was watching the news on NHK. NHK is like the BBC. The report was presented by a young girl climbing up a mountain. Where do you think the camera focused on while she walked up the mountain? That is right, on her arse for 10 seconds. I said to my wife that is a bit much. She said, "What? What is wrong with that?"

Benjamin Stannard Alright Jim.. Stop giving Hideo credit that he does not deserve. This is the guy that made " Liquid Poop" Into Johnny the bad ass in one cut scene. Hideo makes awesome games but his stories are crap filled with great bits of interesting information. But they are 90% crap. I want to add that if you find Quiet sexy that is weird. Her attention seeking movement is not sexy in the slightest. It screams desperate for attention. Women who behave like Quiet are usually emotionally unbalanced and are seeking love. But hey...

Steven White Don't you miss when you could preorder as god intended; out of convenience (for the record, I preorder via Amazon) for stuff you were pretty damn positive you'd get in the first place OR a limited release things like something from Natsume? (your milage may vary, but I'm damn sure you. Before your "watch list" was only things you weren't sure of, or had a spotty past (oh, Sonic, what happened to you). NOW we have to have a "must buy later" list for this nonsense.

Solomon Mars prerecorded in game chatter is really odd because it's often so humorless. most of what I ever hear are people being silly and then laughing occasionally at a joke or just commenting on something they saw in the game world that was odd. even if they did that a little it would feel less like an audio uncanny valley than it does.

DEL1337 This is probably the first time I don't (completely) agree with you Jim Son (I made it sound Korean). Or I at least fail to see the problem completely, I consider it advertising, which is fake almost by definition. But maybe I am in error. It sounded 100% scripted and fake, and made to sound what it would sound (but never does), when you and your dude-bros play the game online. I also find graphical downgrades to be far, far more deceptive and bordering on violating consumer rights. I watched the live event, it was entertaining. Also watched a bit of live NASA footage.

Adam Gaffney Excited for Digital Homicide to not understand the outro is sarcasm! But I agree with what you're saying, the companies that complain they need the DLC because they don't get the staying power are the ones that have shitty practices and so turn the gamers off to their game, that's the irony of it.

Dallen Steinke Jr Reviews are not for the company's sake! Reviews are for us the consumer, more to the point, consumers who aren't pre-order cattle who want to make sure we are gonna make a sound choice when we buy a product! And why would Jim review a version of the game that has been reviewed already by so many others? I commend Jim for what he does for us the gamers, and anyone who thinks he's doing a disservice by not bending over and kissing the developers asses can fuck off! Thank God, for Jim Fucking Sterling Son!

Ross Stuart I thank God for you Jim. I was pissed at PC Gamer for withholding their Batman review to give Warner Brothers the chance to release a better version of their PC Arkham Knight. To hear you say that you have put out a review for the exact opposite reason fills me with admiration to no end. I do not identify with Gamergate, but I certainly do feel that the gaming press is hopelessly corrupt and inept, and therefore I place my trust, and again thanks, in you, Jim Fucking Sterling... son!

James McGhie My problem with the 'less than two hours of play' thing is that it doesn't account for game such as Star Wars: The Old Republic that are fine for the first three hours or so but then you hit a point where the game consistently crashes. Because it happens after the two hour point am I just not entitled to a refund? Or what about Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodline which has that game breaking crash right near the end of the game? Also I find it very odd to see the Bash Street Kids and Lord Snooty showing up in YouTube videos in 2015.

Janos Pasztor OK, so I've tried the refunds. It works in those cases, and ONLY those cases where the rules apply exactly. I've bought Sonic 4 ep. 1 and 2 in a package on the summer sale. ep 2 doesn't work, it displays a white screen and that's it. I couldn't get back my money even partially, because I've played ep 1 more than 2 hours. (I left the game running ... ) In other words, it is being applied in the strictest way possible. On an side note, your audio could use some polishing and I happen to have built a small studio for a project, so if you want some help with it, PM me.

Steven White Hmm, you rant/call shenanigans on Nintendo's amiibo game and Chibi-Robo gets an amiibo packed in with the physical game? Is this a sign of things to come? Have the heavens granted The Jim another win? ...Or is it a sad ploy to draw people to a less popular character in their stable. It was called a "bundle" which means there may be bundle-less copies that will likely be a LOT more available.

Davey Son The scarcity of amiibo in the U.S. and the U.K. is really mindboggling to me. Every store you walk into here in Australia has had an abundant amount of them. Not just with the Splatoon figures, but with a whole bunch of the Smash Bros. ones as well. Did they accidentally ship the stock that was meant to go to other countries here? It's all a little strange.

Michael Scherchen I don't understand why Valve - who MUST be aware of all this don't seem to care that all this carry-on is shitting all over Steam's reputation as a platform. I remember when Steam used to be a prestigious store for games - very hard to get on to - now it just feels like a repository for dogshit. The only thing I can think is that the money Valve make from Steam offsets any damage these awful games are doing to Steam's reputation. Steam used to be John Lewis - it now feels like it's including the piss-poor-cousin of the 50p and £1+ shop! Thank god for you Jim Fucking Sterling Son for highlighting this bullshit again and again - I just wish Valve would do something about this - hire a couple of people to act as gatekeepers to the obvious trash - can't be that difficult surely? I'd LOVE to actually hear GabeN respond to this video...how can he defend this crap?

Soren Andersen Sorry Jim but i have to disagree on this one. Sure we can all agree that voice actors should be treated fairly and that they often offer valuable contributions to games, but thats not really what this is about. This is about actors getting special treatment over the rest of the dev team. Voice talent is hired on contract basis – not as full time employees, and once they have fulfilled their job they dont have to worry about getting canned or the studio shutting down etc. Their are not working for years and years on something that might not turn out in the end and dont have to suffer with that amount of pressure and stress that a regular dev in a studio is under (trust me, ive been there and done that). Working in games can be great but its also hard as fuck and you never know whats actually going on or how things are gonna pan out. Voice actors can swoop in and do the job and get out without most of that grief. Should they be entitled to a bonus for an entire project, after a month or less of recording because they have a strong union? And dont get me started on how non-union devs cant keep lines recorded early on in the process in the final game because of union restrictions. This practice is actively hindering game development and causing further grief. Yes im sure that you can find examples of voice actors being treated unfairly but giving them a mandatory bonus wont fix that. Plenty of regular devs are getting the shaft too. This is a misguided campaign and you should enlighten rather than jump on band wagons. Keep it up regardless!

That James Perry As someone working in the game industry, this rings very true. There's a lot of work for voice actors to take on, even while working on multiple projects (And even across mediums). But I didn't have the time or energy to bounce around on different game projects while doing contract work myself. Hell, if I even tried to do something on my own, I had to make sure that the project was started before my start date at a company and wouldn't conflict with my employment at the time as a competing product. However, if a project fails I could've been out of a job. If it succeeds, I saw nothing extra. Maybe some cake on a Friday and some small glasses of champagne. The only bonuses handed out to the employees I've worked with and myself were for recognition of the extra dedication to the team. Spending extra hours to wrap up a feature, taking on more responsibility than my job description states. I understand the concern, but let's not shirk the devs outright. Are voice actors the very paramount of examples we should be discussing here?
