I would really like to be a tech-monk, living in a quiet monastery in the wilderness, contemplating philosophy and technology all day long. Sadly, I am bound to others. I live in the environment where money equals time. Your contribution can help me to free myself. It will allow me to work on things that I think are worth doing, and to write about things I find interesting.
What do you do?I am a Czech programmer, living in a city called Prague. I code mostly in Python, but I also like Smalltalk and Self language. Other than that I sometimes work with Rust, and I have also created several libraries for the D programming language. Here is my GitHub:
I like to write blogs. I have written more than one hundred blogs on various topics, ranging from philosophy, poetic pieces about technology and future, to purely technical blogs. Most of them are in the Czech language, but I am working on porting the more interesting blogs to the English.
Here is a small taste:
You can expect blogs about Python, Self, Smalltalk, interactive environments, military systems, smart contracts, rants about operating systems and how they should be replaced with object environments, blogs about rationality, self learning, philosophy and maybe also aliens ;)
Other than that, I am a moderator of several subreddits:
I am currently working on a programming language called tinySelf, which should bring together ideas from David Ungar (Self), Alan Kay (Smalltalk) and Douglas Engelbart (NLS).
My idea is to create a tool where information can live in form of objects. It should also kind of work like a database, which is also a personal wiki and API for all your internet services. It should allow you to create, manage and work, with all of your streams, whether it is your facebook messenger, that discussion forum you like to post to, or just a blog you are writing at the moment.
How often do you publish? That depends. So far I have a lot of blogs that I can translate from Czech language to English. Other than that it is something like one / two blogs per month on average.
What will you use the money for?I don't expect much, right now I would be glad if I raised enough to pay at least for the infrastructure (VPS, domain, ..). At the moment, remaining money would be used for translations and grammar corrections.

Your contribution can help me in the long term to free myself from work I have to do otherwise. It will allow me to work on things that I think are worth doing, and to write about things that I find interesting.
Why should I support you? That depends on who you are. Do you align with any of my interests, and does your situation allow you to spend money on changing the world in the way you like? You can use me to channel the change to the world.
Generally, I expect that you like some of my writings, or maybe you find out, that you would like to see more experimentation on topic of esoteric languages, or practical experiments inspired by the ideas of Engelbart, or Licklider.
It is up to you, whether you want to help me, or not.
