Cannabis Observer is creating cannabis regulatory transparency and insight in Washington State

Cannabis Observer organizes distributed teams to observe cannabis regulation.

Starting in Washington State, we're prototyping a new way to engage in governance processes: citizen observers witness and testify in public meetings while recording and gathering content for distribution to stakeholders and communities of support.

We observe public meetings that no one else does, creating abundant and dense information that complements available sources.

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board livestreams and records their more formal Board Meetings - but does not record the two other types of public meetings where board members meet in quorum (Board Caucuses and Executive Management Team meetings).

Cannabis Observer creates and shares impactful regulatory and rulemaking content which cannot be acquired by other means.

Consider the time and expense it would take to travel to Olympia multiple times per week to observe public meetings. That may not be something you want to do or are able to do. But that's exactly what Cannabis Observer has been doing throughout 2018, and we're committed to doing so into the future with the support of budding communities of Allies.

If you find our consistent and thorough coverage valuable in your work, join our community as an Ally by contributing $1 or more per month to support this work.

We believe transparency is necessary for accountability. And transparency is necessary for stakeholders to make the most of this unique historical circumstance.

We hope you'll benefit from the information we're bringing to the Washington State regulated cannabis marketplace.  Join our communities to help us shine the light more brightly.
