Buy my own Kiln
I want to control the fire! To run my own experiments and get work done faster I need my own fire box. Hot, Hot, Hot!
Dream Studio of my very Own
Yup, I'd love to only work for myself, creating everyday. I need a space able to handle a hot, hot kiln, and tables to spread out and go back and forth between projects. I envision a place with large trees outside, lots of natural light, and a basement or dare I say "she shed" for the kiln.
About
I've always been an artist. I have a clay studio right in my living room and love it. I'm at home in the forest but live by the beach for the breezes. And I love all things green and wiggly.

I'm a full time hands in the mud artist. I sculpt and carve my pieces at home in my living room. I studied photography and sculpture in school and then apprenticed with a fabulous large scale bronze sculptor in laguna Beach, Terry Thornsley, where I learned invaluable skills.
I'm also a recent cancer survivor, the incredible onslaught of emotion is getting sorted out through my work. When chemo was burning holes through my brain and making me drop everything I picked up, I sat at my table and carved caverns into clay, deepening them as the clay dried and grew stronger. The metaphors are still revealing themselves to me through the organic style I started then. I'm excited to see where this vein of work goes, even if it did grow from darkness, It's coming into the light. And this is where I am sharing these insights as they come. The inevitable "Life is Short" conclusion led me to wonder why art has always been "on the side", I vowed to make Art my real job, and any day job I have to take now is, on the side.
My favorite thing to do is take a 2-D concept and make it 3-D, touchable, textured, physical. From the mind into reality. I have a unique skill of thinking in three dimensions.
I want to use Patreon as a tool to share process photos and videos so the world can see all the steps it takes to make a soft lump of clay into something beautiful, (or ugly depending on the day) I'm asking for Patrons to keep me going on this path to Artistic Independence. I promise to share the behind the scenes process and inspirations of my creative story. Share with me in realizing dreams.
The financial reality of the world means that I must make ends meet if I wish to continue making art as a full time career. When I am supported by folks like you, it gives me a little more time to make things that may or may not earn me any money, and that is a beautiful thing!
WHAT IS PATREON? HOW DOES THIS WORK? Remember the Patrons to Michelangelo, and Rembrandt? They were Kings and Popes! Now you don't need to be a king to be a Patron of the Arts. (I will think of you as royalty though) Most modern artists are on our own to fund creative projects. Patreon is a fun and easy way to become a modern patron! Patreon is a platform that allows anyone to become a patron of the arts. This is a stuffy way of saying that here we have a streamlined way for you to support an artist directly. Think of it sort of as an ongoing, online tip jar; if you like an artist's work, and can't afford or don't want to necessarily buy the artwork regularly, but still want to support them in some way? This is a great way to do it. It's a nod of your head, saying, "hey, I like what you do, thanks for sharing." When you pledge, you will be charged only once per month, at the end of the month. You can read more in the FAQ here if you have questions about how the money part works.
Another type of support
I do have an online shop, and that sort of support is always most welcome! There are lots of functional, fun little things in my shop that are great for gifting and receiving.
