Who Am I?

Christina Cattane; Indie writer.

I am a pastor's wife, mother of 4, and grandmother of 1. I live in Michigan but grew up in Anchorage Alaska. I also spent a couple of years living and traveling overseas. My experiences show up often in my writing.
I write in several different genres such as Christian fiction, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, adventure, fantasy, and crime-drama.
My current novel is set in Alaska and falls into several genre categories.

Why Patreon?

A way to get paid for my work and cover the cost of self-publishing.

Self-publishing allows authors to have complete creative control over what they write. It also leaves them responsible for all the costs involved. Website design and hosting, editing software, publishing costs, promotion/advertisement and purchasing an ISBN number just to name a few. Patreon will allow me to get paid to write and cover the costs of getting my novel published.

Value for Patrons

Access to my writing.

Writing is what I do and what I have to offer. I have several different projects in the works.

1. Abandoned in the Land of the Midnight Sun: The Story of Chugiak

What fate awaits a runt born in a land where strong and powerful dogs are necessary for survival?
"If you liked 'Call of the Wild', 'White Fang', or 'Homeward Bound', you'll love this story of an Alaskan Malamute pup who goes searching for his girl.

2. A Kidnapping Story

The story of a young boy who is kidnapped and kept in a basement for almost a decade. What will happen to this broken child when he gets too old and his kidnapper sets him free in the middle of a forest? Can the boy overcome what's happened to him to help the detective find the kidnapper before another suffers his same fate?

3. Lost in the Land of the Midnight Sun

Angelica has been chosen to finish the quest that her grandfather was unable to. The Bible her people have built their lives around for centuries is missing it's second half. With her faithful dog Chugiak by her side, she travels across an unforgiving wilderness to find the Truth, and restore her people.

4. Random Writing Exercises

As the member of two different writing groups I often participate in writing exercises based on assigned writing prompts. Sometimes the stories become bigger projects, such as the kidnapping story above which started as a prompt to write a story based on a photograph. They tend to be short and often funny, sad, or just plain strange.

Be aware that the things I share here, escpecially scenes from my novel, are raw and unedited and subject to being cut completely from the final product.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page and I look forward to sharing my journey to self-publishing with you.
