Print Club Membership
$30
per month
If you’d like to join my Print Club, you can do so here. It’s priced at $30 per month, plus local taxes.

You’re welcome to subscribe, or unsubscribe, whenever suits you. There’s no obligation to remain a member if it’s not working for you.

For my part, I’m going to be working on some (hopefully) really intriguing contemporary print work here in the studio, using both digital and analogue tools, and sending the work out to club members in the post, maybe three or four times each year.

If you’d like to view some of the works that have been sent to members in recent years, there are images and notes about the editions on my website here

https://www.chuckelliott.com/experimental-print-club.html

My Patreon blog lists all the more recent pieces too.

In addition I’m using the platform to invite club members to shows, and share musings as we travel through the year. I have to say that I don’t blog a huge amount, but I hope that what I do write may be of interest.

Print Club springs from a desire to create smaller more ephemeral works for my own interest and development, and find a home for them, so that they actually exist in the world outside the studio!

It goes without saying that there is a chance that these Print Club works may become collectible, as they are not available to purchase elsewhere.

The works are only available to club members, on the day they're editioned, with the size of the edition being determined by the number of people in the club on the day.

I tend to also mail out a covering letter with each work, which I hope may contextualise the editions a little, or at least share some musings about the pieces, and how they evolve.

I hope you’ll enjoy the club, the prints and the writing. If not, you can unsubscribe at any time, there's no obligation, or minimum term!

With best regards - Chuck

About

Hello and welcome,

Over the past three years I’ve been quietly working on a side project, an experimental Print Club. At the time of writing I’ve reached edition #13, hopefully by the time you read this, that number will have increased a little. It should be going up by about 4 editions a year, at least that's the theory…

In essence the Print Club is designed as an informal space for creating and collecting new, exclusive, often slightly more experimental works on paper, and occasionally other materials, direct from my studio. The idea is to use the club as a vehicle for trying out new ideas, working with seasonality, scale, material tests, and just generally getting a little closer to having some fun with it all, making works that are a little faster, a little looser.

Club members pay a monthly subscription, in exchange for which I send out at at least four exclusive new artworks each year. The edition lengths are determined by the number of members in the club on the day, so if there are 12 members the work will be in an edition of 12.

The works are posted out on a particular date, and are never made available again after that. The only way to get the work is to be in on the day. I wanted to create a format where the works would represent a specific moment in time, never to be repeated, individual place markers in time, this spring, this summer, this autumn. I like the idea that a piece is made at a particular moment in time, and becomes redolent of that moment. A studio seems to me to be a kind of time machine, travelling through the years, a place for making new works that are specific to particular days as they are lived.

The club is hosted by Patreon, a platform that offers artists an online space for posting news, sharing images of works in progress, sending out invitations for shows and openings, and just generally allowing people to get a little closer to the studio, in a thoroughly informal way.

I hope it’s a good offer. It goes without saying that your patronage will help fund the project, month by month, whilst simultaneously creating a vehicle for new works to be produced and disseminated. It’s an exciting proposition, at least from my point of view!

If you’d like to give it a go, great! You can sign up online here. If you find it’s not for you you, you can unsubscribe at any time, there’s absolutely no obligation, and of course you can keep all the works you’ve collected during your membership. As all the works are exclusive to club members, there’s even a chance that they may become collectible… who knows!

If you’d like to read more about the club, I have a section on my website with more information and writing about each piece, alongside images of work in progress.

It’s online here

Many thanks for your interest. I hope you’ll consider joining, or maybe just sign up for the newsletter if you're not sure yet. You'll receive the latest news about the works as they're made, invitations to openings, and musings from the studio.

With best regards - Chuck
