I'll be able to take time away from my other part-time jobs and dedicate it to the Patreon. This third post could be anything from a second (or third!) movie review, especially during the summer, or criticism about an existing film. I'll try to cater it to your needs!

Movies aren't always worth the $12-16 you pay at a theater, spending your valuable time in the dark with strangers to see a film you could have just watched at home instead. If you support the movie reviews on my website, dontspoilthemovie.com, I'll do my best to give you a well-rounded critique of the highs, the lows, and the woefully problematic. Your money, my time.
I'm a Japanese American Social Work student, but I've always enjoyed talking about films with other people. I used to work at a movie theater and discovered that not only did I have fun discussing movies, but I was good at selling people on a particular film- I had a knack for knowing what they liked, what tropes they enjoyed, and their personal taste in genres and actors. I've always enjoyed writing about film theory and literary translation, and I'm hoping this patreon will give me an opportunity to write regularly.
My initial goal is to review a film once a month, sometime in the opening weekend, with a review up on the website and Patreon update the same day. If I could raise enough money I'd be open to multiple films a month. I want to be realistic in the amount of writing that I take on, since I work and go to school, but I'd really value an opportunity to put my time and effort into talking about something that I love.
