About me: What else could I do but become a clown?
I was born near Belfast and came from a short line of tall show business folks, my mother was a drug dealer, well okay, a pharmacist and my father was a poet and teacher, his father was a Variety & Cinema Hall Manager and his wife, my grandma, played piano for the silent movies. My dad says he once climbed the front of a cinema dressed in a gorilla suit to pull the crowds for the opening of King Kong. On my mum's side we were mostly commie agitators, her mother being the first woman in the Communist Party in the UK, the party where my parents met. They certainly knew a party when they saw one.
SO! After a very relaxing few years at art school in London (no really, I didn't inhale), more wasted years as a small time theatre manager, I decided to jump the footlights and tread the boards myself. Ambitiously we bypassed circus life in tents and we called ourselves a zoo, Ra-Ra Zoo. After more than ten chaotic and tumultuous years on the road, by rail , ship and aeroplane, we crash landed in a field near Cambridge in England and walked away, limping in my case.
I limped off to Ireland, my spiritual home, this was 1994, pre Father Ted, Ireland was still in the grip of the priests and the interwibble was just a glint in the minds eye of Tim Berners Lee. But lights had gone on on my little inner screen and was already adept at making my computer a publishing machine. A forced crash course apprenticeship in a typesetting bureau and with a big software publishers in Cork focused and honed my skills and I was soon ready and able to carry the torch for web design, as soon as web sites had been invented

What else can I do now but carry on helping making more funnier stuffs?
I'm making a series of short videos which will combine actual comedy material with a roundup of news and reviews of what I've found interesting recently in the world of clown and physical performance.
A typical issue may have some extracts from shows, workshops news and a round up of what's being talked about on the forums and even what other people are saying about what other clowns are doing.
Support my video habit and you will not only support some great creative endeavour, get great funny and informative videos every time I release them but ALSO help me get new hardware to edit and film with and maybe some food on the table now and again. This is video series never going to go viral (we can wish) but if you pledge a small amount for each new episode you will get to feel a warm glow and a trickle of run down your leg as you laugh. Ewaugh, we shouldn't have gone there should we? Ah well, too late now.
Each episode will be stand alone no big continuing plot line so you can dip in and out watch a few and miss a few, no one will care, except me of course, likewise with the sponsoring. You can pledge an amount per issue but then put the amount up, down or stop altogether YOU are always in control, this is for FUN okay?
All the money side and the payment do-da is super secure, I just get a payment for each issue and you just get charged when I put one out. It's like a promise to pay me a little. It will give us all a little glow I promise and when I see those promises it's a real incentive.
