Coded History

are creating a school and game for decoding world mysteries.
"Imagine the world has gone to Hell in a basket and no computers or paper or ink. All you have are rocks and cave walls to leave important messages. Words don't work, because not everybody reads the same language. And words take too long to write with a rock on a cave wall. So you use symbols, like an arrow on a street sign..."  From a book I'm working on.

Symbols are a language like Egyptian hieroglyphs. Before printed words and letters, people recorded important information in pictures as books. Since printed words and letters people have forgotten how to read pictures as books. To see a thousand words in one painting.

To read an epic adventure love story on the face of a Victorian house. It is a different way to record and distribute information. The technique is more reliable than words and letters, because art history doesn't lie. The caveat is that you may not like the other version of history that the art is distributing.

Hi my name is Deborah and I am an art historian. My research is symbols in art and architecture that connect histories. I studied fine art in London. Had a drawing exhibited at the Royal Academy of London. Born and raised in Australia in the country with koalas and wallabies in the back yard. My grandmother loved crosswords and my family are all history geeks and love a good mystery.
