About CJ "Cold/Brew" Poirier

  "Who is CJ Poirier?"

Hello! My name is CJ Poirier, better known as "Cold/Brew." I'm a small Twitch streamer, content creator on YouTube and creator of The Nerd Spectrum Podcast, your one-stop shop for all things geeky and gamer goodness. My journey as a content creator started from a young age, as well as my love for video games and how they were made. I created my YouTube channel in 2013, making and editing together simple "Let's Plays," which, in hand, helped develop a secondary love for video editing. After graduating high school, I dedicated myself to making videos and streaming on a full-time basis while going to college to learn about game software design.

Unfortunately, my college experience went south and was diagnosed with a moderate case of 'scoliosis' in late 2018, which hindered my progress making content by limiting the amount of time I could be at my desk. That experience absolutely destoryed my mental health and overall productivity due to intense back and leg pain.

Then... in early 2019, I decided to make a change. To better my physical and mental health and push myself to make content once more, to make people laugh and to enjoy every second of it, despite my hindrances. Since then, my creativity has been reinvigorated and I've been more excited than ever to make content. However, I'm wanting to do something different. I want to make content unlike something I've made before and help showcase my love for not just the world gaming, but comics, anime, cartoons, and more. I want to help showcase how amazing these worlds can be...
...and I'd be honored if you were a part of it.

WHY DO I NEED YOUR HELP?

For the type of content I plan on making, I mainly want to focus upon goals rather than what individual tier will be funding. I currently work a job outside of this Patreon, but it's difficult to help fund a channel while also trying to pay off student loans, bills, buy food, travel expenses and such.
Not only that, but because of YouTube's policy changes in regards to monetization, I've only made about maybe less than a dollar in ad revenue, which I will probably never get. To put it simply, it costs more to make the videos then it brings in. Patreon will hopefully help in some way with that, not only allowing me to create a sense of financial stability, but also let me create bigger and better content in the future.

So, what are the goals? Here's a nice simple breakdown of each one to ensure a clear understanding of what you'll be putting your money towards:

$100 Goal - "Covering the Basics."
I cannot stress enough how costly it is starting to become in order to become a content creator nowadays. Each month, I have to pay so much for the ability to use music, custom graphics and even to use the very software I need to make videos and I can't keep doing it.
$100 will help me cover the costs for editing software, content lincensing AND help me get content out faster.

$250 Goal - "Splitting the 'Burden'"
Managing a full-time work schedule, as well as trying to keep up an consistent output of content and stream schedule, it would definetly help to be able to have more hands on board.
$250 will be able to help me pay for a video editor, as well as cover the costs from the previous goal AND help me get content out faster.

$500 Goal - "Giveaways? Exclusive Patreon Content? Huh?"
It would blow my mind if we were able to reach this goal. Quite literally.
To be able to not only cover the costs from the previous goals, but to also be able to use any residual funds to help give back to you lovely Patreons with exclusive videos and merch giveaways would be AMAZING.
Hitting this $500 milestone would mean I can rest more, producing more quality content than I ever have and have even more days to do it!

"What am I (the patreon) getting out of this?"

As of right now, I'm not really able to offer much currently but what I can offer is:
- A custom "Patreon" role on my Discord server, featuring a Patreon-exclusive text AND voice chat!
- A special town hall stream for Patreon supporters, discussing the channel and voting on what content I should make!
- Exclusive discounts on merch!

Eventually, I would like to be able to offer more rewards but due to current financial reasons, this is all I can offer.

"Thanks for supporting me!"

I uinderstand that after reading all of this, you are a bit hesitant with the idea of supporting myself and my content. But know that just by you taking the time to read this has been amazig enough and I truly do appreciate.

If you are interested in supporting me, fantastic! I can't wait to have you be a part of the team and help make this a reality.

Again, thank you so very much. If you want to follow me on any of my social medias, they're linked right below:
