per episode
Colony 3 is the latest scientific research team to inhabit Mars.
Every two weeks our team will improvise and live-stream a 30 minute episode shaped by prompts from our Ground Crew. Watch us face technical, interpersonal, and philosophical problems, and maybe learn a few lessons along the way.

Filmed live in front of in-person and twitch stream audiences on Vancouver Island in Western Canada in a meteorite-repellent air-locked indoor climbing gym! Featuring instructors from the Fill In The Blank Improv School as well as at least one team member who has actually been to outer space!*

(*or at least somewhere very large.) Colony 3 depends on our Earthling Ground Crew for support, via this website! Will you consider joining our Ground Crew today?

Meet our Team.
Anna Bunce portrays Hannah, a career space scientist and Colony 3's team leader. Her studies on algae cultivation have brought her many accolades. Colony 3 is the culmination of her childhood dream.

Jesse Fuller portrays Jeffy, who recently completed an online 2-in-1 degree for basic robotics repair and creative cooking. Going through major life changes, Jeffy is recovering from his second divorce.

Jonathan Baker portrays Jean-Luc, a gruff man from Northern BC who's responsible for general technical maintenance and A.I. development. He hates algae and loves thinking about the big picture.

Andrew Barton portrays the voice of ANDRew, Colony 3's computer A.I., tasked with control over the colony's habitat settings, team member comfort, and statistical precognition. ANDRew makes use of an exhaustive video surveillance network, fleet of hexcopter drones, and customizable emotion-mirroring software for humanlike interactions. Through using ANDRew's tight-beam communications array, Colony 3 team members can communicate with Earth.

Henry Fletcher portrays Henro, a mysterious art therapist.

Online Improvisation and ANDRew's Precognitive Display.
Every episode will contain a board of 12 prompts for the improvisors to build the story around. These prompts will be words or short phrases, both silly and serious. Obviously we won’t do copyright-infringement or bad taste stuff. Some prompts will be used as dialogue, some harnessed on a conceptual level, and so on. All 12 prompts will appear in the episode as artfully as the Team can manage.

Who provides these 12 new prompts for each episode of Colony 3? The Ground Crew does. That's You.

Patrons at the $5 tier (and all tiers above it) can supply a word or short phrase to the pool which prompts are drawn from. Once your prompt is used to shape an episode it's removed from the pool, and your next prompt will be added to the pool.

But if that power isn't enough, patrons at the $100 tier can supply a word or short phrase which goes right past the pool with a reserved spot, guaranteed to appear in the next episode. You're really making this show happen, we're happy to sculpt reality in your honour! Limited to 6!

We're excited.
Lighting rigs are go. Audience seating is go. Sound cue initiating sequence counting down. The station is already falling apart and the interpersonal tensions are already running high, but we're gonna hold it all together. Watch us MacGyver this shit!
