Head/Heart Conversations is a webinar series designed for psychotherapists who want to invite their inner healer to the forefront of both work life and personal life. In this four-part series, we will invite participants to learn about themselves as well as enhance their clinical skills.

At Head/Heart Therapy, we approach healing from the inside out. We believe that in order to offer the best care to our clients, we therapists must do our inner work as well. At this point in history, we are called to move beyond the old ways of being and courageously step into a new paradigm. Therapists are poised to support our clients’ transformation...but we must also transform ourselves.

Webinar 1 : Conversations with a Wounded Healer by Sarah Buino, LCSW, RDDP, CADC, CDWF
Friday, March 5, 2021 - 9:30am - 12:30pm CST
In this field, we are encouraged to practice self-care, but not often encouraged to take a deeper look at what comprises “wellness” and what gets in the way. This is not a fluffy self-care seminar, but rather a call to action designed to challenge participants to step into their own healing with courage. In order to thrive in this field, it's crucial we shine a light on what really matters when it comes to caring for ourselves and the barriers that get in the way of being our best selves.

Webinar 2: Trauma from the Individual to the Collective by Rayell Grayson, LCPC, CADC and Sarah Buino, LCSW, RDDP, CADC, CDWF
Friday, May 7, 2021 - 9:30am - 12:30pm CST
Helping professionals often go into the field due to their own experiences with trauma. This seminar seeks to provide a broad understanding of trauma --in ourselves and in our greater world-- and how trauma impacts our work with clients. There will be a special focus on racialized trauma and ways to support the healing of Black, Indigenous and clients of color.

Webinar 3: Body Language by Joanna Taubeneck, LCPC, R-DMT, GL-CMA, E-RYT
Friday, September 17, 2021 - 9:30am - 12:30pm CST
This seminar will delve into the use of the body and movement in the healing process. Participants will learn why our bodies are so intrinsic to the work of self-awareness and self-soothing, and how exploring our physiology can be the gateway towards feeling safe and empowered in our lives. We will practice basic yet impactful ways of mindfully and compassionately relating to our bodies while deepening our understanding of how to use these skills in session with our clients.

Webinar 4: Queering our Conversations by Benji Marton, LCSW
Friday, November 19, 2021 - 9:30am - 12:30pm CST
This seminar will focus on topics of gender and sexuality. A simplified understanding of the queer spectrum will be discussed to provide a baseline recognition towards holding space for LGBTQIA+ clients. Building upon the vulnerability asked of participants in the other seminars, we will build a space to confront internal homophobia and transphobia, challenge assumptions and biases, and prepare ourselves to hold genuine, caring and authentic space for queer clients.
