Don't Be A Pixel is creating
Gaming Discussion & Critique
Thoughtful discussion, critique & opinions on games & gaming culture
Milestone Goals
Start to Expand
Once we reach the seemingly trivial amount of 100$ a month, we will truly be able to expand Don't Be A Pixel from being just a basic idea to becoming a full fledged site. Although this is far from being the amount we would ideally want to have to give as high quality and polished content as we want to have, its a start!
Don't Be A Pixel is our new idea for what a gaming website should be. Our focus is on critiquing, discussing and flaunting opinions on games and gaming culture, without falling into the usual issues that current games websites have. We also want to try and encourage new people to write pieces and share their perspectives with us, by providing an open environment that encourages contributions and pays all writers per piece, no matter what our income is.
We've chosen to use Patreon as a platform to help support the website, as this seems like the best model to help us work on a month by month basis. We want to run this website so you, the readers, can enjoy the great content, not so we can pull you in to view adverts on as many articles as possible, which is what the traditional ad-based model represents. With your support, we can focus on just providing great content as best as we can, and not get tangled up in that ad-based model.
We also don't want to hold content off from people that aren't able to support us, which is why our rewards are so simple. Supporting us on Patreon is an optional way of helping us to keep the site running, and we'd rather not lock out people from enjoying what we put out. We are offering the $10 tier as a behind-the-scenes look into what we get up to have the website running, just in case that's something you may be interested in (though we can't promise we aren't actually going to be that interesting for you).
So please consider supporting us, maybe read more into the aims of the website if you'd like to, and thank you for reading.
