Who are you ?

My name is Dan and I love to write about strange technical issues I encounter in my daily work and how I fix them. I have been working as a professional software developer since 2011 and I blog about that and more right on my  github page. It's so easy for me to get excited about super random problems and I've been documenting my processes since forever with a passion even though only recently in public.

My main work is in the web development area, specifically PHP - Laravel but more broadly it includes software and languages related to backend, frontend, devops, security, frameworks and everything in between.

So why should I support you?

I absolutely love working within the entire ecosystem and this naturally generates weird issues of what breaks and what explodes. I aim to show you the spectacular explosions! This can include the full range of issues from 1 letter bug fixes to switching frameworks, virtualisation issues where the OS is at fault, stories of bad choices, and live production server fixes.

As I hope you get the chance to see, the moments of incredible brainfarts are not equally balanced time-wise by those of grunt work. To get enough material means that I have to spend and unbalanced amount of time behind the scenes tinkering. As "fun" as that is, my own mind needs the goal of "cuba libre on the beach". As I dream this dream I feel the serotonine flow and can then more easily enter alpha and release the grunt work.

And what do I get in return?

Throughout my content I not only give problems and solutions but also show the processes my mind uses to solve real programming issues in my own work. I do my best to give as much insight in my thoughts as possible.

You have the opportunity to see me make lots and lots of mistakes then see how I overcome those. This is the number 1 way to learn! My skill is only possible because I had so many opportunities to learn (i.e. read failures) and I am super hyped to finally share my passion with the world! I really hope you enjoy going through my content!

Thank you for your curiosity and support!

This will prove that I can harness the power of Patreon! You're amazing! However, what's actually even more amazing is that now I will get a huge boost in motivation.

The hardest step is the first one and this is certainly it for me. I am so excited to reach this and get to creating hugely entertaining and informative content for you!
