Hi everybody, I’m Holly Pruett, the founder of the Death Talk Project.

For the last 4 years, on volunteer basis, I've led community conversations about death that have involved thousands of people. Now, by becoming a monthly partner via a Patreon pledge, you can help me sustain this work in the community. (Scroll down for one-time support options.)

Your monthly financial support will enable me to:

Plus, you’ll get some cool perks – check out the "Rewards" sidebar for what comes with each support level!

When I cofounded PDX Death Café (now the largest in 30+ countries), I was passionate about breaking our cultural taboo around talking about death. I’ve since come to believe that how we talk about death is even more important than that we talk about death.

Storyteller and spiritual activist Stephen Jenkinson says we have a great talent in North America for turning the wolf into a poodle – so it will sit on our laps. Once you start looking for it, you’ll find that a lot of the new death awareness is just as deathphobic as the old silence that surrounded the topic.

How can we respect the wildness - the Great Mystery - of death, without domesticating it?

How can we relate to our own eventual death without turning it into one more self-help project?

How can we reclaim the ways we care for, mourn, and remember our dead in a culture that has privatized and marginalized those practices?
If you’re passionate about changing the way our culture relates to death, I invite you to explore these questions with me by becoming a monthly supporter of the Death Talk Project

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and continuing this conversation out in the community. Thank you so much for your partnership!

P.S. Please contact me at [email protected] with any questions or if you'd like to support my work with a one-time contribution or at a higher, tax-deductible level.
