Is The Book Good?

That's one of the first questions that you'll ask yourself when you see a book in a store, online, or in the hands of a friend. You want to know if the book is interesting, insightful, easy to read, and worth paying for.

For me, interest in books has FIVE levels:

Pick Up, Put Down: When a book captures your interest enough to reach for it, look at the cover, but you never open it. You put it down where you picked it up.

Flip Through: Similar to Pick Up, Put Down, except you actually flip through the book searching for interesting content. In the end, the book ends up right where you found it.

Clasp: This is when you see a book in a store, pick it up, and continue shopping for more books. Your intention is to buy the book, but you don't always follow through (not that you steal it though!).

Want It: You really want a specific book and will pick it up without examination. No need to flip through, no need to read random pages. You found it, you bought it, it's yours.

Book Lovers: You just love books. New or used, you don't care. You advocate for books that you love, have discussions about them, and have a large personal library.
