Digging Through The Fat is a literary and arts journal published by Digging Press.
As a journal and micro-press for cultural omnivores, our mission is to encourage the crossing of established boundaries by showcasing creative folks whose works fire up the fun in the literary and visual arts.
Since 2013, we’ve published over 100 works of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry and have shared over 200 links to works published in other literary journals. We have also launched an Artist Spotlight feature where we promote artists from around the world.
We have featured numerous interviews, reviews, photos, and artwork, and we have hosted live events at The Living Gallery, The New York Society Library, and KGB Bar. We produce Digging Through with Gessy Alvarez, a podcast for art enthusiasts and independent thinkers.
This year, we announced an open submission call for our first Digging Press Chapbook Series which we plan to publish in 2019. Digging Press aims to produce beautiful and artistic books. Selected manuscripts will have a small print-run, and authors will receive 20 copies plus $100 in payment.
If you enjoy who we are and what we do, please consider becoming a Friend of Digging with a monthly recurring contribution. Friends of Digging have a variety of reward options available to them.
Whether it's $3 or $25/month, your pledges will add up to a significant investment. We appreciate any support you can give.
Thanks for taking the time to support our efforts.
