Cin Cin. A glass of wine. Around Florence, we have le buchette di vino, wine doors. I adore discovering the hidden winebars around town, the old Vinaio's.
A favorite Italian toast is:
Pane del giorno, Vino dell'anno con gli amici di una vita.
Fresh bread baked that day, Wine from this year shared with friends of a lifetime.

About Divina Cucina

Tuscany has been my home since 1984.
I fell in love at first sight with the city of Florence and then with a Florentine.
Arriving here I had a personal renaissance. I have become Tuscan!
It's hard to believe I have now lived in Italy longer than I lived in the USA.
After 20 years living downtown Florence in front of the Mercato Centrale, I now live between Florence and Siena in the hills outside of Certaldo.
Over the years, through my blog, cooking classes, tours and video classes, I have shared my passion for my new home. My recipes are simple and easy to recreate at home, They have been gathered from my Husband's family, relatives, cooks and chefs I have worked with as well as simply eavesdropping at the market while I am shopping.
I was a professional pastry chef in a 5 star hotel in San Francisco, but the best food is always what your mamma makes for you. Let me show you how!
I want to share my travels around Italy, recipes from friends and tips for bringing a little Italy into your life daily.
In the first post is a little gift for you, a recipe for a Tuscan Apple Cake, a classic that every mamma makes.
