Hello and Welcome to EMPOWERING SUPERKIDS an effort hosted by SUPERKID POWER, INC.

This has been my vision, mission and passion for decades.

I’ve been empowering superkids with real-world self-help in action that goes beyond mindfulness and resiliency. My techniques teach kids how to tap into self-awareness and self-confidence (and that’s just scratching the surface).

I’m Janai Mestrovich, also known as Grandma Boom. I teach skills and strategies to pre-K and K classrooms that include:

  • Taking responsibility for our thoughts, emotions, and actions
  • Easy skills to manage stress
  • Understanding how the mind, body and emotions work together as a system
  • Tapping into those internal resources anytime, anywhere
  • A holistic approach to developing emotional intelligence
  • Self-calming skills to navigate any situation
  • Building confidence from the inside-out through self-awareness, self-caring, self-control.
  • 3D Learning using visual aids and experiences to connect children to their inner resources
  • Practical tips for teachers and parents on each self-help skills theme

The video I've featured here shows a sample of the lessons I teach AND I’m delighted to see that mainstream media, our school systems, and families are finally realizing these skills are essential. Oprah’s appearance on 60 minutes opened her eyes to trauma informed care and ACES (adverse childhood experiences) that impact almost 35 million children and youth in the U.S. at this time.

With more widespread knowledge of the importance of this work I’m even more determined to share over 41 years of curriculum development and implementation on the front lines of education meeting social-emotional skill needs for young children.

This quote from Oprah illustrates the importance of equipping children with skills to cope and heal.

"See, we go through life and we see kids who are misbehaving. 'You juvenile delinquents,' we label them. And really the question that we should be asking is not 'what's wrong with that child' but 'what happened to that child?' And then having the resources to be able to address what happened to you. The most important question you can ask of anybody which is what I now say even for the Parkland [school] shooting – instead of what's the matter with that kid, I say what happened to that child?"

The skills I teach help encourage good choices, develop a positive attitude, and demonstrate to children how to act rather than react by tapping into their inner resource skills regardless of circumstances. They learn that they always have a choice with their thoughts, feelings and actions, even in difficult situations.

A 5 yr. old boy in a class shared: "My Dad gets mad at me all the time and yells real bad. Even when it's not my fault. He always says he's sorry on the next day. Now I know what to do when he's mean to me. I take a bunch of deep breaths instead of getting upset back."

It’s so sad that a child is subjected to unfair treatment. And wonderful this child is now empowered. Of course, his dad has his own problems and NO SKILLS to cope, so dumping on a child is the norm. How much do repeat apologies really help? Nothing like a boy who can help himself with stress skills. My work helps children to integrate skills into daily living and there are countless stories like this to support the powerful shifts that happen.

I’ve developed a series of training videos, audio’s, books and resources to help create Empowered Superkids.

You can support this important work by becoming a Patreon to get access to the resources I’ve created via a monthly subscription.  Your patronage will allow me to reach more children with this life-changing work that is a basic need in these chaotic times for children to feel empowered rather than victimized by their circumstances.

I started doing this work via The Conscious Living Foundation and we've recently renamed our organization to Superkid Power, Inc. Donations will help fund the important work I do with children. Thanks in advance for your support.
