A. They are created using a combination of Midjourney and Photoshop.

Q. Can I use Midjourney to create my own backgrounds?

A. You can! However, it's difficult to get results that match the illustrated style, camera angles, and colors of Episode backgrounds, and even more difficult to get them to export in the correct dimensions. It also requires you to pay for a subscription that can cost up to $60 a month! Here at Episode Life, we want to take all of the hard work out of it, and offer you ready-to-go, beautiful backgrounds lovingly crafted specifically for Episode at a fraction of the cost!

Q. Are these backgrounds allowed on Episode?

A. Yes! As the Episode Life team has a paid membership to Midjourney, we have the rights to do whatever we like with the artwork we create, so as one of our patrons, we grant you the rights to use them however you wish in your stories!

Q. There are some weird inconsistencies in the small details of some backgrounds? What's that all about?

A. Midjourney uses cutting-edge AI technology to render its images, and sometimes it doesn't quite understand some objects, like a kettle, or a plug socket. At Episode Life, we strive to provide you with the best quality backgrounds we can generate, although occasionally you may find an inconsistency here and there. We don't believe this will have an impact on the reader experience, but if you do have any problems with any of our backgrounds, please let us know!

Q. How do I use the backgrounds in my stories?

A. Simply download them from this Patreon using the links provided underneath each image, then go to the Art Catalogue section of your Episode Writer Portal, then choose "Uploaded to YOUR account" from the drop-down menu, and click "Upload." Feel free to give your background the same name as we have given it, but you are more than welcome to name it whatever you like!
