My sister has described me as a “ball of energy.” And while this is an endearing way to describe me bouncing down the hall towards her, I take this description very much to heart. I, like everyone, have many interests and becoming a patreon, will insure that my energy will create more things to be interested in with people.

Two years ago to the month, keeping warm in my apartment, I drew my first tiger. I might have drawn some as a kid, but my goal of drawing this tiger was different. I knew that every tiger’s stripes were different so I challenged myself to draw every tiger, slightly different. This was the beginning of something great because with every tiger I got a little better and a little more skilled. I developed a Tiger Propaganda campaign where I redrew USSR propaganda posters with tiger heads. Each one asked if you have joined the Tiger Revolution. I did join the tiger revolution and drew a tiger for every occasion; even interpreting a Dostoevsky's short story, as The Dream of a Ridiculous Tiger, a project I would like to finish.

What became as an excuse to stay inside on cold winter nights, “I can’t tonight, I really need to work on some tiger drawings,” became a dissection of paws, whiskers and snouts. Never taking an official art class, I learned drawing skills. I started making calendars with animal puns on them. I have a masters in literature and could only imagine how much more I would have enjoyed getting my degree if the real title of the books I studied were The Apes of Wrath or The Badger in the Rye. The world I created with these animals in it became a better world I wanted to live in. Squirrels sure act like the 1920s silent film stars so I made some silent squirrel shorts. With your support I am able to afford to illustrate these observations in different mediums and create a fun world everyone can join me in.

I have a few goals, including illustrating the children’s book I am creating with my five year old nephew. As well as being able to animate my characters so I can make short movies. I have started a few projects which are much bigger than I imagined, such as The Dream of a Ridiculous Tiger and with your help I can finish these projects. In the mean time I am going to draw an animal a day, creating an illustrated world we all can live in.
