I am a 20 year old Minecraft mod developer and streamer!
Every week I spend about 30 hours plus working to maintain and create free, open source content for Minecraft.
Almost everything I work on also being streamed live at my Twitch channel so people to enjoy, learn, influence and interact with the me and the products I make.
All this is extremely fun and I love every bit about it. Everything from motivating a kid to start learning how to code to produce content for people that get several million downloads. But every thing has a downside..
All this is also very time and energy consuming and lets get straight to the the biggest problem.
It pays really bad..
First off, I just want to state; I am not into this for the money. If I was, I would have stopped doing this 6 years ago. But I am growing up and I am no longer 16 years old and live home with my parents and have all the time in the world. I have my own apartment now, working 2 jobs and taking a master in applied computer science.
My goal now is to try to make a bit more money from my hobby (Modding & Streaming) so I can work a bit less on "real life jobs".
